What's the role?

The Key Project Engineer implements and monitors the Hilti approach to construction project management on focus projects within their assigned market organizations. The overall objective is to increase the Hilti share of wallet in selected strategic projects, mainly driving the focus on specified product sales and engineering efficiency. He/She will report to the Key Project Engineering Manager and will work closely with the different functional roles in the market organization to lead the collaboration from project specification stage up to project fulfillment and closing.

What does the role involve?

Overall responsibility is result-oriented steering of the assigned project teams to produce over proportional growth in selected Focus Construction Projects, leading to an overall increase of Hilti share of wallet. This entails more specifically to:

Manage the assigned the focus projects in the CRM System (e.g. Salesforce, BYD), ensure completeness and accuracy of the project details and other pertinent information
Build the capture plans for assigned focus projects and drive its implementation to internal stakeholders across all levels and functions
Organize and lead project team meetings where project goals and critical actions are reviewed and cascaded
Create and deliver project reports as per defined and ad-hoc organizational needs, from operational updates for the project team up to high-level progress reports for the EMT
Coordinate closely with Team Leaders & Focus Project Team Members across the organization:
to define and drive Engineering KPIs on targets fulfilment of specifications, specification conversion, specified product sales, and specifier engagement on focus construction projects
to build competence of the Engineering teams on complex focus projects
to promote the internal Engineering and Sales collaboration, supporting Sales on defending Hilti specifications during sales conversion efforts whenever needed
to drive internal coordination for the order fulfillment of assigned focus projects (e.g. materials planning, delivery coordination)

What you need is:

  • University graduate in civil/structural/mechanical engineering or equivalent
  • Proven engineering experience in construction, either in design offices or at construction sites, with additional Sales or Marketing experience in the technical field
  • Experience in construction project management is an asset
  • Metro or Airport experience would be advantage
  • Knowledge of the design and construction process, in relevance to the Hilti scope of applications and products, with excellent understanding of the specification process and the sales and engineering collaboration
  • Ability to develop and implement clear action plans aligned to overall goals and strategies
  • Strong analytical, influencing skills and strategic thinking mindset with the ability to make decisions based on analysis, experience, and judgement.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
